|BDO Philippines celebrated its 13th Anniversary as a growing professional services Firm with a retinue of activities at the Makati Head Office last May 26, concluded by a Fun Day and Sports Fest at Royale Tagaytay Country Club on May 30. Simultaneous celebrations were held at the Branch offices in Cebu, Bacolod and Cagayan de Oro. |
The day’s celebration started off with a Mass at 3PM, followed by the unveiling of the framed group photo of the Firm’s founding partners led by Mr. Alba as a commemorative tribute to the pioneering partners, and which now hangs proudly at the Board Room where meetings with clients and guests are held.
The General Staff Meeting followed, highlighted by the State of the Firm Address (SOFA) of the Firm’s Chairman and Managing Partner Romeo C. Alba. Mr. Alba challenged everyone to meet and even surpass the performance benchmarks set by the BDO Global organization for all Member Firms and to fully institutionalize time-tested values of discipline, superior client service and quality work in all aspects.
‘Proud to be 13’ is the battle cry for this year’s anniversary celebration and indeed, a number of ‘firsts’ in the Firm’s colorful history were registered on May 26, foremost of which was the launching of the first web-based Time Reporting & Expense System (TRES) portal that allows personnel of the BDO Philippines and its affiliates to prepare and submit Time Reports remotely and on-line via Internet, thus facilitating time accounting and billing to clients. The TRES system went ‘live’ on that day. The TRES portal is the precursor to the Firm’s planned Intranet that would host web-based applications, methodologies and knowledge databases that can be accessed and shared across the Firm and its Branches via Internet, on a 24 X 7 basis. This was followed by the launching of the new website of an affiliate organization engaged in business process outsourcing services.
